Have you ever wondered how to prepare your skin for makeup? Prepping the skin in advance is a great way to make sure your foundation looks great and stays put all day. Here are some tips for doing that…
- Start with a clean slate
Make sure you cleanse thoroughly before beginning your makeup. Makeup will stick more easily to clean skin and you’ll also be ensuring that dirt and grime don’t build up and cause breakouts.
- Ensure skin is hydrated
Does your skin feel dry or are there rough patches? Dull and dehydrated skin makes for a very poor canvas when it comes to your makeup. Make sure you hydrate first before putting on your makeup. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to naturally hydrate the skin.
- Correct uneven skin tones
Add your color correcting concealer BEFORE your foundation for a fabulous, flawless look. Use Lava Art’s Perfect Cover Color Corrector concealer in green to tone down any red areas of skin. Concentrate on blemishes and areas of redness on the chin, cheeks and around the nose.

Was really happy to come across the Glow cushion by Lava Art! It had enough cover to hide my redness but was also light enough where it looks like my natural skin tone. The formula is a bit on the lighter side and is also moisturizing so it was able to sit on my skin quite well and did not have a cakey look that most foundations have.
